Happy Birthday Aimee

It was my friend Aimee's birthday yesterday. We celebrated by going to a dueling piano bar in Tacoma called Chopstix. It was a lot of fun. People would write down what song they wanted the pianists to play and leave them dollars to do so. The more dollars, the higher up in the song queue your song would go. People were encouraged to sing  along and participate in the fun.

Our party slipped the guys a $20 bill and let them know it was Aimee's birthday. They got everybody on stage and had them do a little dance and then Aimee was going to sing a song with them. Unfortunately, I left and midnight and missed the song. Aimee has an incredible voice. It would have been great.

Thank you E and Martina!

My daughter (left) met E when he was in the states during high school as a foreign exchange student. He lives in Venice and met us one of the nights we where there. He and his girlfriend, Martina, showed us around the city for a while and then took us to a pizzeria where we saved 5 euro because they were Italian.

They were both great and I enjoyed meeting them and spending the brief time we did. Martina is so sweet, she even offered me her hat when it began to drizzle. What a sweetie. I only wish we had more time with them.

Thank you again you two. I hope to see you again sometime, and until then, the best of luck to you in pursuing your dreams.
